miss_lindz
Hey everyone! Well, I already posted this in the upcoming artists thread but figured it would get more views/replies if I made it into a topic. This is a really serious issue for me and I would LOVE to get as many opinions as I can get. Thank you all soooo much for your time!!!

Okay...I can admit it. While I am quite optimistic about my endeavors and what I'm setting out to do, I am a bit discouraged right now. I feel....stuck. It's been so hard trying to promote my site and...myself. I've even done numerous interviews on different sites and my visitor count has only barely increased. I am just...sad. I don't really know what to do...

I have been doing live performances lately, so it's not like I'm just sittin on my bum waiting for it to happen. It's just, there have been so many unsigned singers who have created a website and gained a HUGE fanbase online just from that! Why can't I? I have so much to offer; I'm not just a little pop singer who doesn't know what's she's singing about and what she wants in life, I have substance and depth to myself and my music. I write all my own songs based on my own personal experiences. I don't sugar coat things, I put them bluntly, and I write about things that most pop/r&b singers don't. I wish people could know that and like it/respect it. I dunno, I just don't feel like I'm getting anywhere. And don't get me wrong, I'm not quitting until I make it to the top, I just know it's gonna be a long, hard road. And this is one of the obstacles in my way--self doubt.

Here's where you great people come in-

If each one of the 200+ Jordan Johnson fans took just 5-10 minutes out of their busy day to visit my site, listen to some music (I know the quality isn't great but hey, ya gotta work with what you've got right?), become a member at the message board, and spread the word on my site to their friends/family whatever, it would help me sooooo incredibly much!!!! And why should you help me, you might ask? Because, someday when I'm doing big things out in the world and you hear me on the radio or see me on tv or in concert, you can have the satisfaction of knowing that YOU yourself played a big part in launching an artist's career, and that you mean the world to a young girl who's living out her dream thanks to your help. Without fans, I am nothing. Well, all I know is that I wrote this from the bottom of my heart and as my closing question I so humbly ask, "Will you please help me?" Thank you so much for taking your time to read this.
Much Luv,
Lindsey

My response from the other topic:

Lindsey,

My suggestion would be to get a professional photoshoot and website design (I would recommend 2.0 Studios of course). The saying "Success perceived is success acheived" is true in many cases, and this is one of them. Although your music production and voice is very good, the professionalism exibited in the visuals on your website detracts and makes it look more like you're a wannabe rather than the real thing. With a professional design and photoshoot, you'll look like you are a singer, and not someone trying to be one.

Whats up----

Here is my opinion, Lindsey--- you need to start promoting yourself the old fashioned way of...making up some flyers with your website on them, go to the mall put the flyers under the windshield wipers you never know who will look at them,--- those people will tell their friends and then you will pick up some followers--- I will promote you on my website just like i did Jordan Johnson--not that he needs it lol... but hey it is worth a shot--- give out as much stuff about u as possible--- the rewards of your effort could be great...never give up though!!!!
