I *LOVE* Angel. She's got a label and all, but isn't too too famous yet, so check her out as well! Her label, Midas Records, was founded just for her- talk about talent! Plus she's got a really positive message!

The only one who looks familiar is Angel. She looks like one of the girls from that band Play from Sweden.

Yeah, Erin/Nicki has changed her image, but remember she wad like...13 in her old band and had the image of girly-happy-go-lucky preteen which isn't the sound now so obviously something had to change lol.


As for Angel, if you think she sound's really pop-ish now, that was her first album. Her next album coming out around, I think February next year I think, is alot more R&B. I think it's because her label, Midas, was sorta trying to find a niche for her and with her first album- they obviously found out pop is dead lol.

I actually really like Angels first album, and I dont really think Pop is dead at all. It's just not as existant right now as Rap and all that scream rock music is.

Me too, I love her first album. Sales say otherwise though lol and that's what her label cares about. BTW, MJ's nephew, Austin Brown, is signed to this label as well. Maybe pop will come back someday, I'll be right here waiting.

I suppose it still does exist- Mariah, Jessica, Britney...but it's definatley not the "in" genre.

If you look at the charts pop is still pretty much on top. Kelly Clarkson had a huge year, Jessica Simpson had a huge year with that one song, Jesse McCartney had a HUGE year as well. Along with people like Mariah, Britney and the people you said.

Pop is still around, but slowly dying. The music industry is digging it's grave as we speak. While I'm not a huge fan of Pop, I still rather it wouldn't completely vanish. Alot of my favorite artists are pop lol

I guess its maybe just where I live, but around like PA, NJ, and NY pop music is pretty much alive and kicking all over the place lol.

I live in the south and people here generally listen to Rap, R&B, Rock, Rockin' Rap and/or Country(though you get funny looks if you listen to it...dunno why) Pop isn't really popular around here.

I think that pop music is popular, but it's just the way the song is made...like all the people that were mentioned above (Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson, Ryan Cabrera, Tyler Hilton, The Click Five)...they're all pop music, their music just has a commercial spin on it to make it appealing to the music market right now...there is either a rock or r&b spin on the pop music so people don't think of it as "POP".

Most people don't know what the definition of "Pop Music" is, so to them if it isn't Britney or *NSYNC then it's not pop, but there are quite a few "Pop" artist on the charts right now that are doing well!!!

Pop Music will never die..it's been around forver, it's just a matter of the sound evolving to fit whats "in".

Yeah, great point Melissa. I mean, the whole "pop" genre itself is dead for now anyways, and any pop artist is being given either a "rock" sort of sound (eg Kelly Clarkson) or a urban/R&B spin (eg Mariah Carey)


I love my bubblegum pop though! But not Jesse McCrapney, that kid is just annoying beyond belief and i think he needs dental work...

Jesse McCartney is a really good singer and really cute. He's like either 1/4 or 1/5 fo that late '90s band Dream Street, as is Chris Trousdale. BUt hey, it's your opinion and I'm not gonna attempt to change your mind

I have an O-town CD. Well...actually it belonged to my former best friend of three years. But when she wound up pregnant, she let me keep it. I almost never listen to it, unless I miss her. And for some strange reason, I listen to the CD adn I feel better...yes, I know, I'm strange.

That's cute, not weird....whenever I'm sad or in a bad mood and I'm driving, I pop in the Spice Girls CD and jam out to "Wannabe" and "Spice Up Your Life"...puts you in a happy mood EVERY time.....lol..
